City to Unveil City Garden and Visitor Center
Part of the Friday Night Thunder Goes Green with Duke Energy Arbor Day Celebration
The public is invited to attend the Friday Night Thunder Goes Green Arbor Day Celebration which will feature an Arbor Day Proclamation and two grand openings in historic downtown Inverness. All events are set for Friday, April 20, 2018.

Hours: 5 - 8 p.m.
Duke Energy to supply 50 Florida Maple trees and 100 Japanese Privet trees on a first come basis starting at 5 p.m. Duke Energy invites the public to speak with their Energy Efficiency Specialist discuss ways to save money, and there will be a forester on-hand to discuss the best places to plant trees. There will be live music by Groove 41.

Arbor Day Proclamation at 5:30 p.m.
Ribbon Cutting at 5:40 p.m.

There will be volunteers on hand from 5 to 7:30 p.m. to provide tours and future plans for the garden.

Join the Inverness Event & Visitor Bureau for tours of its new visitor center from 5:45 p.m. to 8 p.m. with live music by June Tunes and light refreshments provided by Joe's Family Restaurant.
