Kids Bike Safety Day at Inverness Middle

Event takes place throughout the day
The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office presents bike safety to students at Inverness Middle School during gym class. Students will get a hands-on experience with safety exercises throughout the day. Event on Facebook.
Clean Air Bike Ride
Saturday, Mach 23
Starts 7 a.m.
Clean Air Ride benefitting the Key Training Center will begin at the Inverness Trailhead with stops at Ridge Manor, Istachatta, and Citrus Springs. The Trail Head is 2/10 mile north of the Old Historic Courthouse in downtown Inverness. Cyclists choose from four distances on this springtime nature ride: 14 miles; 28 miles; 48 miles or 100 miles. Ride of Silence
Sunday, March 24
Starts 3 p.m.
The Ride of Silence commemorates cyclists killed and supports those who were injured while riding on public roads. This police-escorted one-hour ride on city streets raises awareness among motorists regarding the dangers cyclists face. A free t-shirt will be provided to all those who RSVP by March 8. Rock the Ridge with Frank D

Start 8:00 a.m.
Join City Manager, Frank DiGiovanni as he heads up a unique cycling tour of the Rock Ridge Phosphate Trail. This free ride includes insights on the history of the phosphate mines along the Withlacoochee State Trail. Gather at the Inverness Visitor Center at 8 a.m. 203 East Dampier. Bike ‘N’ Brew Ride with Cattledog Coffee Roasters

Your ride begins at 9 a.m. at the Cattle Dog Roasters, 210 Tompkins Street, Inverness. Get a behind the scenes look at Citrus County’s award-winning coffee roaster, restaurant and a demo about the latest craze in coffee. This ride is all about socializing with friends, new and old. Sunshine Grand Prix at Citrus Springs

This one-of-a-kind race takes place on a closed-circuit track in Citrus Springs and is the first day of the 3-day Sunshine Grand Prix. Sunshine Grand Prix Inverness Criterium

Starts 10 a.m.
The Downtown Inverness Criterium is the highlight of the 3-day Sunshine Grand Prix. The start and finish line is located at Dampier and Apopka Blvd where 200 pro and amateur cyclists will race through the downtown streets of Inverness for points and prize money. “Bicycle Blvd” is party central for the race. Located on Apopka Ave between Dampier and Courthouse Square it will feature live demos, competitions, food and festival vendors, and a live band. Sunshine Grand Prix Brooksville Ice Cream Hill Road Race

The Final Day of the Sunshine Grand Prix cycling event, the Ice Cream Hill Road Race is an endurance ride of 16.77 mi Bike Ride in Brooksville, FL. The Bike Ride has a total ascent of 369.61 ft and has a maximum elevation of 269.78 ft.
Bike Florida in Inverness
April 1-3, 2019
Bike Florida is a non-profit, formed in 1994 for fundraising and to help supplement Florida Traffic and Bicycle Safety Education programs. Riders come from all over the world for their Spring Ride. This year’s ride is located in Brooksville and Inverness. Approximately 600 riders will travel to Inverness for this annual ride. They will be headquartered in Whispering Pines City park and will have a several options of road rides each both on and off the Withlacoochee trail.
