Inverness, Fla. (November 29, 2018)– Following the conclusion of another successful year for Inverness Grand Prix Karting street race that represents eight solid years of exciting racing. The Inverness Event & Visitor Bureau (IEVB) and the Affordable Karting Club (AKC) of Citrus County agree that the Inverness Grand Prix & Motorsport Festival took its final lap through downtown Inverness in 2018.
Kart race day set up took a village of volunteers hundreds of hours to transform city streets into a race track that involved placement of over 450 bales of hay, miles of safety fencing and 120 airport safety barriers. After careful and thoughtful reconciliation it was decided it was not feasible to continue to meet the demands of the event.
Organizers thank all the karters who participated, and all the hundreds of volunteers that helped make this monumental undertaking possible. Organizers encourage karting enthusiasts to check out the Affordable Karting Club on Facebook @AffordableKartingClub and to check out the Citrus County Speedway schedule of events at CitrusCountySpeedwayandTrack.com.
